Description: Huge oil on canvas portrait of Margaret, Thomas Gainsborough's daughter, from the 18th century. The side profile of the young woman in the blue dress is in excellent quality and condition, with a fake oval. Shown in its original antique gold-colored frame. The composition, which is possibly by a member of Gainsborough's circle or a preliminary work by Gainsborough to the one housed by The Tate, is a more fluid style version of the 1772 painting. Origin: Given to Rev. W. Green by Margaret Gainsborough Size: approximately 41" by 34.5" when framed.
