Description: Exquisite oil on canvas picture of Nell Gwyn, the mistress of King Charles II, by a British Old Master from the 17th century. Gwyn, a favorite of Charles II, is seen in this rare huge three-quarter length painting provocatively with her breasts bared and her hair pulled back in an orange garment. Outstanding quality and condition typical of Verlest's historical paintings, and a painter of multiple lustful mistresses of the illustrious King. The framed measurements are approximately 46" by 37".
