Description: Huge painting of Prince Valdemar Christian of Schleswig-Holstein from the 17th century Danish, oil on canvas, son of King Christian IV. The young heir's portrait is in excellent shape and quality. He eventually married Irene, the daughter of Tsar Michael of Russia, after failing to take the throne. He is shown here with beautiful lace collar, royal sash, and ceremonial armor with extensive golden details. In 1656, he passed away in a Polish battle. relined; presented in a gold frame.
