Description: Large oil on canvas painting of Sarah Churchill, Duchess of Marlborough, dating from the 17th century. A three-quarter length painting of the courtesan who, thanks to her intimate friendship with Queen Anne, evolved into one of the nation's most powerful women. Often shown in Kneller's paintings, she is shown here modestly dressed in low-key, religious clothes typically worn to church, with a woodland beyond. Portraiture by Knellers in the typical style. Dreweatts Fine Art has independently validated and traditionally recognized the painting. In good shape, the frame. Dimensions: about 54" x 44" framed
