Description: Fine 16th Century English Old Master portrait of Sir Thomas Kitson (1485-1540), oil on panel. Important English master portrait of Kitson, a wealthy merchant, the builder of Hengrave Hall and the Sheriff Of London. Exceptional detail and distinctly similar to the works of Hans Holbein. Some minor over painting, inscribed at the top "Sir Thomas Kytson". On a split panel with old marking verso. Presented in a black ebonised frame. Measurements: 25" x 20" framed (needs securing)
