Description: substantial oil on canvas Diana and Vulcan are depicted in an Italian Old Master classical scene from the 16th or 17th century. Age-appropriate condition for an exceptionally early and significant Italian Old Master. While being pursued by another woman, Diana is shown walking toward a well, with Vulcan reclining beside and holding his hammer. It is unknown whether the mythological literature scenario ever made up a sizable portion. Framed. Dimensions: roughly framed at 60" x 47"
