This and many similar Scottish paintings became very popular with the public due to the increased interest in all things Scottish, due to Queen Victoria's house Balmoral. The paintings of the Highlands of Scotland were and still are very popular. The painting is in its original frame and is in good condition, having just been cleaned and varnished.
