Description: One excellent contemporary expressionist oil painting of a well-known seaside Southern Coast Beach Scenery Cornwall's St. IvesPier "Smeaton's" from Linda Weir. on a canvas, oil. Verso, the artist has etched the title, Fun in the Sun. by the well-known artist Linda Weir, initialed LW. Beautiful summertime scene of the beach and harbor in St. Ives. with a large number of smiling human figures standing by the shoreline and lying in the sun. Many fishing boats that are at anchor are further back, and to the left is a seawall path that leads to Smeatons Pier. John Smeaton, the civil engineer who created the buildings, is honored by having both the pier and the original lighthouse named after him. A new, 9-meter-tall lighthouse was constructed at the end of the extension once it was finished.
