Superb quality and rare early account of the death of British General James Wolfe at The Battle of Quebec 1759. The work is not a direct copy of West's famous painting but rather a variation that may have been painted as a preliminary composition or an alternative version by a fellow artists close to West. Excellent condition and presented in a good gilt swept frame. Measurements: 36" x 21" framed approx
