Description: Large early 19th century scene of the Death of General Wolfe, oil on metal panel. Superb quality and rare early account of the death of British General James Wolfe at The Battle of Quebec 1759. The work is not a direct copy of West's famous painting but rather a variation that may have been painted as a preliminary composition or an alternative version by a fellow artists close to West. Excellent condition and presented in a good gilt swept frame. Measurements: 36" x 21" framed approx
