Description: Huge oil on canvas representation of The Baby Jupiter from the 18th century in England. An early and significant painting shows a young Jupiter sitting at the base of a rock, gazing back at the scenery while being guarded by an eagle and being followed by a goat. The composition was created by Reynolds in numerous versions, one of which was destroyed by fire in 1816. There is a significant buildup of stained varnish, which when professionally cleaned will expose the natural colours and increased detail.
