Excellent quality and condition early composition from Waterhouses famous Pre-Raphaelite painting. It was considered to be a preparatory work by the previous owner but it is more likely to be a study by a fellow Pre-Raphaelite or classical/romantic painter shortly after Waterhouses famous work.
