Description: An oil painting dated to the 18th century and attributed to John Wootton depicts two gentlemen bidding on an Arabian horse in a grand English equestrian setting. Outstanding quality and condition, an early and significant scene in an estate courtyard, two gentlemen negotiating the purchase and sale while an Arabian horse is saddled by the groom. Excellent detail typical of Wootton's art, who, together with Stubbs, Tillemans, and Seymour, was one of the first major horse painters. displayed in a vintage ebony frame.
