Description: During the 19th century, Franz Knebel painted an oil on panel depicting a passageway near Lake Albino, south of Rome. The Swiss-born painter, who made the majority of his paintings close to Rome, Tivoli, and the Great Lakes, created a beautiful study. Probably a thorough research project or preparation for a longer essay. Excellent provenance with literature to support it and a wax collecting stamp on the back. presented with an artists' plaque and a gilded frame. overall clean and in good condition. Dimensions: approx. 45 x 30 cm when framed
