Description: Huge oil painting on canvas, attributed to Angelo Maria Costa, depicting Posillipo from the Riviera di Chiaia, from the Italian Neapolitan School of the 17th century. Outstanding historical example of the artist's work, perhaps created on private commission, painted on a considerably greater scale than normal. Costa, one of the first notable painters of the Neapolitan coast, captured the culture and natural beauty of the area. Excellent condition considering its age Provenance: Verified by fine art experts in Chiswick Private estate in London, inherited Size: approximately 57" by 39" when framed.
