Description: Fine moonlit Thames landscape from the 19th century, painted on panel and credited to James Abbot McNeill Whistler. Nighttime view of the Thames in excellent shape, photographed from the banks at Battersea, with a lone ship in the distance. Old inventory label with a Whistler catalog on the back. The painting bears striking resemblances, according to technical study, to Whistler's moonlit nocturnes of London, ca. 1875, which match both the pigment palette and the technical approach. would necessitate further authentication displayed in a classy gilded frame. Dimensions: framed at 21" x 18"
