Description: Figures in Classical Landscape Italian School, 18th century oil painting on canvas, framed framed size: 31.5 x 42.25 inches. A very fine classical landscape from the 18th century, of Italian authorship. Ideal for a 'country house interior', this beautiful painting is on a large scale and captures this impressive waterfall landscape, with a drover and animals on a track. In the distance lays a merchant port and trading vessels. The work has lovely warm and soft light to its gentle tones and despite much is going on within the scene, it carries a tranquil and pastoral feel to it. Beautiful condition and ready to hang.
Provenance: Private collection, England (same family since 1930) condition: relined canvas in excellent condition, presented in plaster gilt frame with ornate mouldings.
