Description: Chinese Museum, Art Gallery, and Ornithological Interest 1 Fine Art Mixed Media Painting 2 Birds' Eyes With Plum Blossoms, by Zhao Ji (莙佶, 1082–1135) 2. Following in the footsteps of Zhao Ji (鶙佶, 1082–1135) Subject: Ornithological investigation of two untamed birds perched on branches with blooming plum blossoms. Extremely distinctive since the bird's eyes are surrounded with hand-painted decorations of plum blossoms. Gouache, ink, and color on silk with a front glass cover for protection. Stamped with several unidentified Chinese symbols and the artist's signature. Set in a gilded frame with a board backing, approximately mid-20th century.
