Description: Marine WW2 Destroyer on Convoy Duty in a Fine Large British Oil Painting, North Atlantic Ocean From Dion Pears. The well-known British World War II warship HMS Hesperus is depicted in side profile facing left in rough seas in the subject seascape marine portrait. furiously spraying and crashing storm waters over the bow Guns pointed both front and back, and the number H57 is visible on the lower side. With black smoke emanating from the two funnels, you can make out figures in the conning tower. It is possible to view the British Royal Navy ensign flag. with a stormy, gloomy sky that is dark and cloudy. Two more merchant ships from the convoy may be seen cruising by in the distance to the left. The skill with which the artist, Dion Pear, captured the motion of the sea really jumps out in this piece of art. An excellent illustration of his work.
