Johannes von Canova, Salamanca, 1566; dimensions 8 1/4 by 11 1/2"; 6 lvs, 179 lvs. numbered, 8 lvs. Featuring a woodcut printer's tool at the conclusion and a woodcut coat of arms on the title. vellum that is limp, wrinkled, and has a darkened spine that bears the title of the manuscript. A few faded dampstains and few missing ties An uncommon version of the canon law commentary written by the late scholastic theologian Diego de Covarrubias y Leyva, commonly known by his Latin name Didacus Covarruvias (1512–1577), who was born in Toledo and died during that time. Diego de Covarrubias y Leyva, also known as Covarruvias, was a Spanish lawyer and Roman Catholic prelate who held the offices of archbishop in Cuenca (1577–1577), Segovia (1564–1577), Ciudad Rodrigo (1560–1564), and Santo Domingo (1556–1560). He was born on July 25, 1512, and died on September 27, 1577.
