Pigskin with original blind stamping. Interior binding is well-worn. One page had a corner missing. Notes from an antique manuscript. title page with the bottom margin fixed. Dimensions 6 by 9" (H. 22,5, B. 14,5 cm) Following the release of the first large-format Bible edition (Neue Künstliche Figuren, Basel, Guarin, 1576), Tobias, an artist from Schaffhausen Stimmer (1539–1584) created a little picture Bible. published 1578, along with the publisher Thomas Guarin. This Vulgate is defined by the late artist's creative insight. Renaissance and demonstrates the Upper Rhine artist's entire range of skill.
