Leyden: Elzevir, 1632; genuine vellum with graphic engraving on title Dimensions: 2.5 by 4.5 inches; excellent binding with the manuscript title on the spine; excellent and spotless interior (32), 372 pages. Text in Latin Petrus Cunaeus was the pen name of Dutch Christian scholar Peter van der Kun (1586, in Vlissingen – 2 December 1638, in Leiden). According to some, his book The Hebrew Republic is "the most powerful statement of republican theory in the early years of the Dutch Republic."
