The front endpapers are damaged. Dimensions: 4 by 6 3/4"; Latin writing on the spine with a manuscript title Being a member of an Orientalist family, Johannes Buxtorf (Latin: Johannes Buxtorfius) (1564–1629) was a renowned Hebraist and professor of Hebrew at Basel for 39 years. He was referred to as the "Master of the Rabbis". His enormous work, De Synagoga Judaica (1st ed., 1603), meticulously records early modern German Jewish life and traditions.
