Excellent state Latin text Desiderius Erasmus Roterodamus, also known as Erasmus of Rotterdam or Erasmus, was a Dutch philosopher and Catholic theologian who lived from 1466 to July 12, 1536. He is regarded as one of the most influential academics of the northern Renaissance. He was a well-known classical scholar who wrote in pure Latin while serving as a Catholic priest. He was dubbed "the crowning glory of the Christian humanists" and known as the "Prince of the Humanists" by other humanists.
