Description: VETUS TESTAMENTUM ex versione Septuaginta interpretum -- Biblia Greca. Accurate denuo rec. L. Bos., Franeker, F. Halma, 1709, Summa cura ed. Two sections in one volume(44), pages. 724; (2), 725–1326 (2 columns). The printer's gadget has the title printed in black and red. Featuring a frontispiece engraved by G. v.d. Gouwen, following G. Hoet, four foldable maps, and one folded engraved view. 4to: 8 by 10.5", original vellum binding with raised bands down the spine, blind-tooled. Despite minor wear and tear, the inside is in fantastic condition. Front cover put back on (fixed) Greek and Latin text the well-known Septuagint translation by L. Bos, a Greek professor at Franeker University. Based on the Rome 1587 version, the text was written. It is enjoyable to read, with the verse divisions clearly marked and printed in two columns of well-leaded ligatured Greek. Different length footnotes provide more significant readings. - Sandys II, 446; Darlow-Moule 4726.
