The contents from the Bologna edition of 1655–1656 are reproduced in full in the first two volumes, with some additions, while the third volume includes a collection of unpublished works, including the probability dissertation "On the discovery of dice." The frontispiece features an engraved portrait of Galileo, while the first title page features an engraved vignette featuring a view of Florence. The title page is printed in red and black, and there are several woodcut diagrams, astronomical renderings, mathematical tables, and a folding engraved plate of a compass. Two spines include a vellum binding adorned with gold ornamentation and the title (the third label is absent). Excellent state. This issue of the OPERE contains an entire volume of Galileo's writings that appear here for the first time, having never before been printed.
