(1672–1757), wrote the text in Latin. In addition to being a smart man, Calmet was a monk and one of the most illustrious members of the Congregation of St. Vanne. He was made a prior of Lay-Saint-Christophe in 1715, an abbot of St.-Léopold at Nancy in 1718, and a prior of Senones Abbey in 1729 as a result of these accomplishments.
