Folio: 9 by 14" with a title vignette, many amazing text woodcut engravings, and printer's mark by Jost Amman. 8 lvs, 602 lvs, 62 lvs (Index) Original blind-tooled pigskin over wooden boards. No clasps. One of the metal corner pieces on the front cover is missing. The back cover has no corner pieces. Some toning, a damaged colophon page. Good interior condition.
Swiss-German artist Jost Amman (June 13, 1539 – March 17, 1591) is best known for his woodcuts, which he created primarily for book illustrations.
