Description: English folk art portrait of a standing black and white dog. Painted circa 1840-50 this is a typical type of English folk art. Likely painted for the owner the piece has all the interest and appeal of English folk art. The piece is unique in both its composition and breed of dog... I'm not sure what type it is but the dog is very noble and grand looking. The painting is framed in an antique maple wood frame.
