Description: Circle of Alfred Edward Chalon (first-second quarter, 19th century)Portrait of a Young Girl with a Faithful Hound, oil on canvas, Provenance: Purchased from Sotheby's in 1993 for The Cavendish Hotel, Baslow, Bakewell. This painting is a beautiful example of a very early Victorian or Late Regency English portrait painting. The artist has captured the sweetness of both the young girl and her dog perfectly. The painting is framed in an English Antique hand-made gold leaf frame.
