Descritpion: One Fine Scottish Work of Art, an old oil painting portrait of William Muirhead of Messrs, a Glasgow iron and steel merchant, painted by John McGhie. Mr. William Muirhead of Messrs. William Muirhead (Limited) Mount Vernon Iron & Steel Works, 1855–1923, is depicted in a frontal half-length portrait. With his mustache, sharp suit jacket, white shirt, and tie, he exudes the air of a truly distinguished gentleman. Early 20th century, about 1916. signed by John McGhie, a well-known Scottish artist. presented with a metal wire hanging thread on the back in a gorgeous silver and outer gilded frame. on a canvas, oil.
