PASTEUR (Translated by J.D. Pasteur). Measuring 5 1/4 by 9 " About 200 engravings, including 13 title pages, about 50 folding maps by C. van Baarsch, and around 130 plates (mainly folding) by J. S. Klauber; original half leather with gilt title, marbled boards. A rare first Dutch edition of the collected accounts of James Cook's three great voyages, which gave the world a nearly comprehensive understanding of the Pacific Ocean and Australia for the first time, is in very good condition and has well-preserved text and plates.
